A Tribute To Leading Moms In Business!

I love what I do – I get to be here with my son for all the daily whoas! and woohoos! I get to make crafts, read stories, and run daily errands- without having to punch a single clock.

I am a work at home mom (WAHM)!

A Mother’s Boutique is currently in a contest over at Start Up Nation. I’d love if all those that read here and those that I have helped find that perfect bra – or the correct latch-on – will vote for me. You can vote daily too! Here is my story for consideration as a winner:

I guess you could say becoming a mom changed my life. After my own experiences being a mom, working as a mom and staying home as mom, I decided that I wanted to help other new moms be successful breastfeeding. I had a lot of difficulties getting started with my son when he was born, so I wanted to find something that would enable me to help other moms while working from home and spending more time with my son. In April of 2007, I launched A Mother’s Boutique – a one-stop-shop for everything that a breastfeeding mom or mom-to-be needs! Including clothing, breast pumps and most importantly support! To increase the level of support that I can offer to new moms, in October 2008, I started a blog – http://blog.mothersboutique.com. This enables me to share experiences and offer support to new moms. In just a short time, I have built up my business and have been profitable since the 6th month post launch. I do the majority of my work when my son is at school or napping or asleep at night – so I work all kinds of crazy hours. Most importantly – I have become a resource for new moms around the globe! All while having a lot more time to be a mom myself.

Thanks for your continued support- YOU are the reason why I am here. I want to help moms of all backgrounds and breastfeeding skill levels grow and bond with their children.

  • I’m not yet a mother, but I was very involved with my younger sister during her pregnancy and now help take care of her daughter frequently. Breastfeeding was definitely a major stressor for her after my niece’s birth. My sister was anxious during the whole process and had a hard time letting her milk down. To make matters worse the baby would be so comforted when she was skin to skin with my sister during feedings that she’d only get a snack before she fell asleep. She didn’t get filled up and therefore would be hungry and crying within 20 minutes. Because of my sister’s experiences, breastfeeding is definitely something I’m apprehensive about when I have my own children someday. Thanks for creating a source for those of us who need the info and the reassurance that it’s normal to go through some hard times when it comes to being a mother.

  • Also, thank you for offering the burp cloth giveaway. Giveaways are always so much fun!

Thanks for your note Kebi! Breastfeeding is wonderful and I hope you will give it a try when you have a baby of your own someday. It can be difficult in the beginning, but it gets so much easier with time. I am always here to support new moms – so if you ever have any questions, just send them my way and I will do my best to help you out! — Judy

I voted for you – good luck! I found your site today as prompted by the blog Two of a Kind, Working on a Full House. I entered the giveaway for the burp cloths that you are sponsoring at her blog. Thank you so much for the generous giveaway – and … my fingers are crossed for us both!
