The Shower Hug was created by a mom – just like you and me! She had her first baby and thought “there must be a better way!” Every time she showered, she was rushing to try to be out before her baby needed her – and the whole time she was in the shower, she couldn’t relax and enjoy it because she was too busy trying to shield her tender breasts from the harsh jets of the shower head. The beauty of the breastfeeding community and the businesses in it is that they were all started by moms who thought “there must be a better way!” And The Shower Hug by Belmama & Cherub is no different! The founder, Ane, knew that if she had tender breasts in the shower, then there were a whole number of other moms who had the same problem. So she created The Shower Hug – a wonderfully soft, luxurious knit terry velour wrap that provides expectant and new moms with gentle bust line support and soothes sensitive nipples and breasts associated with pregnancy and breastfeeding.
As part of our blogiversary celebration, the creators of The Shower Hug have offered to give away one of their fabulous Shower Hugs to one lucky Mommy News & Views reader! So if you would like one of these great devises, just read on to see how you can get one for yourself!

I remember right after my little girl was born and we were home from the hospital — my milk was in with full force. I hopped in the shower, did my thing, and got out, only to discover my husband looking at me with a horror on his face. I was squirting milk EVERYWHERE and had no idea.
I wish I had one of these when I first started nursing. It hurt so bad to have the water spray directly on me, I wore my bikini top in the shower for about 2 weeks. My husband laughed at me. I was lucky to get a shower some days. From the beginning my daughter was not real big into napping. One time I was in the middle of washing my hair and she started crying in her room so I wrapped in a towel and jumped out (conditioner still in hair) put my hair up and got her. It was over 2 hours until I got her back to sleep long enough to wash the conditioner out. Guess that is some Deep conditioning.

My funniest shower story actually happened when I was getting out of the shower. When DD was newborn and DH had gone back to work, I would put her in the swing in the bathroom while I attempted to shower. One day, she started screaming, so I hopped out and got tangled up in the swing legs and ended up tripping over the swing. Of course, since she was crying, I was leaking and a few drops actually hit her face.
Funniest story? Hmmm. Well, most of my stories aren’t really laughable. With my firstborn daughter, I always had to “shield” myself in the shower because it was oh-so-painful. Then, I had baby #2 and used the ShowerHug…and it made all of the difference! Seriously. It’s a brilliant invention and I’d love to win one to gift to my little sister (who is pregnant with her first) or my sister-in-law (who is pregnant with her second).

Well, I guess I’m lucky. I don’t really have any “funny” or even memorable moments showering. I would shower when he was napping and then when he was only 2 months old my husband was home for the summer. I do remember how incredibly painful it was though and this would be fabulous. Even now pregnant with my second it’s starting to hurt so I’m dreading the after birth stuff… would love to have one of these!

I just remember not being able to face the spraying water because I was so sore and milking spraying across the shower. Our bodies do crazy things after having a baby!

With my first daughter my milk came in the day we had family over at the house to see her. I was in the shower and I was in so much pain, but it was my first real break. I just stood their with my back in the water trying to relax!! This would be awesome as my nipples are really taking a beating with my second daughter!!
I don’t really have a funny story, I always took my shower while he was napping or sleeping at night. I still do. LOL! and he is 21 months old. I would love to win a shower hug though because it always hurt when I was breastfeeding him, and now I am pregnant with baby #2 due in May.
