In the greater Pittsburgh area, there was one location for moms to go to join in on the record-breaking fun, A Mother’s Boutique in Wexford, PA. At this location, over 200 people gathered to participate in the festivities which included the Big Latch On (72 mothers attempting, 64 completing), food, prizes, lactation experts, baby experts and fun!

The former world record was in 2010 when 9826 mothers in 326 locations around the globe all breastfed their babies simultaneously.

This year’s event didn’t break the record, but it did help moms around the globe to spread knowledge about breastfeeding in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. Did you attend an event near you?

  • I hosted my local event and we had 68 people show up 28 mummies latch on (27 latched on. My daughter would not latch… too many people around! hehe) For our commuinity it was a huge success! Congrats on your turn out!
