Being Green

What do you do to “green” your life? Being “green” isn’t about being perfect. It’s about taking little steps that make a difference in the big picture. If everyone took one step per year to make their lives “greener” – we would all be living in a much better world. As a mom, how can you “green” your life? If you are breastfeeding, then you are already saving the environment by not using all of the disposable containers associated with alternate feeding methods. What other steps can you take to make your world a little greener?

  • Use reusable nursing pads instead of disposable ones.
  • Use cloth diapers instead of disposable diapers.
  • Use reusable plates and utensils instead of disposable ones.
  • Use Green Cleaning Products – with some of these, a little can go a long way – and they don’t have any harmful chemicals which are bad for your family and your environment.

  • At our house, we EAT a lot of green. Greens in smoothies, salads and tossed in rice/stir fry/pasta dishes. Eating more greens is both good for the planet (especially if locally grown) and good for the body.
